Uniform and PE Kit Information

Uniform and PE Kit Expectations at St Giles Academy

At St Giles Academy we do not have a specific uniform provider. Items which include the school logo, including polo shirts, cardigans, jumpers, book bags and PE bags, can be purchased from Uniform Direct. It is not an expectation that children have to wear items with the school logo on. School uniform can be purchased from other shops and supermarkets. We do ask that uniform meets the criteria below.

Boys: Blue (purple in year 6) school jumper or cardigan, white shirt/polo shirt, grey or black trousers or shorts, black shoes (not trainers).

Girls: Blue (purple in year 6) school jumper or cardigan, white shirt/polo shirt, grey or black trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafore, black shoes (not trainers).

Shoes: Please ensure that your children wear sensible shoes to school. Children are very active during the day both inside the school and in the playground. Their shoes need to be comfortable and safe. Sandals are likely to cause trips and falls and boots are not allowed - in extreme weather children will be allowed to wear boots/wellingtons for their journey into school, and should change into school shoes once they have arrived.

Jewellery and Hair accessories: For safety reasons, children should not wear jewellery, the only exceptions are stud earrings and essential religious items. Hoops or dangly earrings are not allowed. Plain black or green hair ties, headbands and flat clips are acceptable. Please do not send your child to school with large headbands, bows and clips - they are not part of school uniform.

Makeup: Makeup including nail varnish is not allowed in school. If your child is wearing nail varnish they will be asked to remove it.

PE: Plain white t-shirt with black or blue shorts and suitable footwear - trainers or plimsolls. Children can have tracksuit bottoms and a jumper or jacket for outdoor PE when the weather is colder.
