Summer Term Week 7

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all keeping safe and well. This folder contains work you can complete this week. Remember Miss Smith and Miss Forman are still available on Class Dojo if you want to get in touch. We still enjoy seeing what you have all been up to :)

Follow the link to the BBC Bitesize website which has a number of different lessons for the children to work through.

Word of the Week

This week our word of the week is spoil. Do you know what spoil means? Go online to find out.

Create a spider diagram and write the different meanings of the word spoil. You can also add suffix endings to the word like -ing -ed. This is called morphology. See an example of morphology I have done of a different word below:

All our English work for the next two weeks will be based around the Story 'Oliver's Vegetables.'

Oliver's Vegetables - Week 1

It is important that the children in Year 1 continue to practise their handwriting. They should be writing in pre cursive (adding the leads in and out of the letters before joining letters). Please ask your children to watch the video below and practise in their English book. We know the music can become annoying :) so, at school we mute it, and put different music on for the children to listen to as they practise.

The children have learnt about the painter Wassily Kandinsky previously with Mrs Atterby. Look at the slides in the document below, answer the questions about Kandinsky's painting called 'Colour Studies: Squares with Concentric Circles. Then have a go at painting or colouring your own copycat piece of art!

You can have great fun completing physical activities by Cosmic Kids yoga or by searching 'Just Dance kids' or 'gonoodle dances' on YouTube. - Just Dance Kids - GoNoodle dances
