Our Classroom

Important Information

The single most important way you can support your child’s education is to ensure they are in school, on time, EVERY DAY.

Class Dojo:

To ensure you keep up with all relevant information and daily class updates please ensure you join us on class Dojo. If you need to contact school you are able to message through class Dojo.

Please ensure you activate your Tapestry account as this is where you are able to view what your child has been learning in school. you are welcome to add learning and adventures from home.

In foundation stage we have PE on a Tuesday Morning.

Please ensure all clothing is labelled with your child's name and they are sent with appropriate clothing for the weather as we will be outside all year around.

Read Write Inc (R.W.I.).

At St Giles Academy we follow the scheme R.W.I. which teaches the children their sounds, to keep up with the sounds your children are learning please see Class Dojo and Tapestry as we will be posting links to videos of sounds taught.

Each day your child will learn a new sound. This will be posted each day on Class Dojo so you can support your child at home too. Alongside learning the sound, your child will also learn how to hold a pencil correctly and practise writing the sound.

During each RWI session we will also be supporting your child’s first stage of reading through ‘Fred Talking’. This will teach your child to listen to the sounds and put them together to make a word - sound blending

Please find below parent videos for you to watch based on RWI...
