At St Giles Academy we have designed our curriculum which is based on the September 2014 National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 & 2 and the Early Years 2012 framework in Reception.
The intent of our curriculum is to provide our children with an understanding and sense of community, both locally and further afield. This will be achieved by the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum, allowing the development of both skills and knowledge within each subject specific area along with constantly linking back to Lincoln.
As a school we follow the National Curriculum: Primary Curriculum which can be found by clicking this link.
Here is an overview of how the curriculum works within Key Stages 1 and 2 in our school:
At St Giles Academy, we follow the Read Write Inc scheme for Phonics and we use book banding for Reading in KS1 and Accelerated Reader in KS2. In Maths we follow the principles of The White Rose Maths hub and use the Power Maths scheme to support this.
