Welcome to Class 4!
Our teacher is Mrs Hodgin and we also work with Miss Greaves, Miss Ford, Mrs Hudson and Mrs Harris.
The children have settled in amazingly well in the first week of term. There have been lots of laughs, lots of new friends and loads of hard work!
'Here or there?'
We are very excited about our project this term. We are learning about Africa! In geography we will compare Kenya to Great Britain- look at the similarities and differences, and share the great reasons to live in each place. We have already completed African sunset pictures and have plans to create tie dye t-shirts, clay animals and African masks in our art lessons. We will also explore African music and dancing!
There are so many keen readers in Class 4 - most children have read at home every day since the start of term! The children are enjoying reading the books three times before changing them, as it is building their confidence and fluency. Our class are very good at remembering which colour book they read and change them independently. Keep up the good work!
We have PE on Wednesday and Friday, so please bring PE kit in school on those days. This term we will be learning to play invasion games with our synergy coaches.
In English we have been exploring the book Handa's Surprise.
From this book the children tasted fruits such as pineapple, mango and oranges and described these fruits by appearance and taste. Following on from this the children had great fun following instructions and writing their own instructions to make and taste their own Fruit Kebabs.
