Spring Term in class 11 has started of with a range of exciting activities. We have been doing lots of reading; in English we have been looking at the book 'Wonder' and writing diaries and letters based on the text. Furthermore, in class we have been reading Demon Dentist and enjoying the humour David Walliams generates for his readers. In maths we have already learnt lots on: shape, Area and perimeter, time, money and statistics and after half term we will be recapping again over fractions and the four operations.
Our project this term we are focusing on 'Authors from around the word' this has involved us finding out about the different continents and countries and researching the different human and physical characteristics. Alongside the project we have also had a focus on E-safety with the children discussing and generating ideas of how to stay safe online.
Keep following this page, as over the next couple of weeks the children are going to have the opportunity to take over and put some information on here themselves.
The teacher in our class is Mrs Thomas and Mrs Taylor is our LSA who is with us everyday.
We use both Class Dojo and Twitter to communicate with parents. Please sign up for class dojo using the parent code which was sent home. To find us on twitter, please follow @stgac_11
Our essential question this term is:

On Wednesday 3rd October, year 6 were incredibly lucky to be visited by BRIT nominated classically trained singer, Carly Paoli. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to Carly perform for us, as well as taking part in a singing lesson and singing along to 'When children rule the world'. Take a look at the photos and watch our performance below!
On Friday 28th September, we launched the 'mini-police' scheme at St Giles! We are incredibly excited to offer this role to ten students across years 5 and 6. During this visit by the PCSOs, we learnt what it takes to become mini-police officers! This time next week, we will be listening to speeches and voting for our representatives! We can't wait to find out who will be a part of the St Giles mini-police team!
We are currently reading 'The Executioners Daughter' and we have been so excited about the book we decided to tweet the author with our questions. She has replied... Have a look below or on our twitter page to see
