Class 11

Welcome to Class 11!

Year 6 have lots of exciting things planned for the summer term including: the trip to London; leavers assembly; prom and even a show. Our project this term is WW2 and we will hopefully be visiting the Bomber Command Centre. In English we will be looking at some brilliant texts such as: Wonder and Letters from a lighthouse. We are looking forward to seeing the Year 6's thrive in their last term of Primary School.

Autumn Term- UK vs South America
This term we are learning about:

UK vs South America

In English this term we will be reading some fantastic new books such as, A Walk in London, The London Eye Mystery and The Arrival. As a result of reading them, we will be doing some great writing of genres like: diaries, newspaper articles, narratives and letters.

During the Autumn Term, we have been studying South America and comparing it to the United Kingdom. Whilst studying the topic, we also looked at the work of artist, Beatriz Milhazes and were inspired by her work so created a range of collages. We also looked at sculpture and made our own clay monkeys, which often features in her work.

In English this term we have been reading some fantastic new books such as, A Walk in London, Mary and Frankenstein, The Arrival and The Snowman's Journey. We've written non- chronological reports about famous London landmarks, story openings linked to Frankenstein, as well as letters, persuasive adverts and a poem.

We can't wait to see what books we have in store next term!
